It’s been lovely to get a flurry of young people being asked to self tape for film and t.v projects towards the end of the year.
I’m looking forward to seeing these materialise into work projects for 2018!!
A mail out to casting directors has been sent out with all of the young people’s CV’s and head shots. As mentioned previously this profession is hugely competitive so it is important to update your CV’s with any skills you may have e.g instruments you play, sports, I am amazed when I speak to a young person who has so many talents and find they have not updated it on their CV.
As young people you were picked to come onto the agency and onto Spotlight as you showed you had talent but it’s important that we can show that. It is really important that everyone has a show-reel of them performing by the end of February 2018 and in the mail out to casting agents I have announced that we will be doing a showcase to casting agents in March so young people will need to be prepared to showcase their work.
Spotlight are very supportive of this and will be present and I hope to do the first showcase in the North of England in March and depending on how this goes we could then do a further showcase in London.
It’s about getting out there and being seen. For those of you being coached by me we have already been working on pieces so you should be prepared in time for March showcase.
A huge congratulations
Huge congratulations to those who received excellent Lamda results this term for their Grade 6 Performance exams. Amelia Gray, Megan Lloyd, Iris Greaney and Benji Wilson all received Distinctions and this was very pleasing indeed. Do put it on your Spotlight pages as Lamda exams are well recognised and show you are talented, disciplined and creative. These are all sought after skills for any production company wanting to work with creative individuals.
Lastly I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones:
A very Merry Christmas and a healthy, wealthy, peaceful 2018!
